Design Process

Establishing a design process is important to staying organized and focused when woking on any design project.

It is equally important to not be bound by this process either.

Elements of My Design Process

  • Meet with Head of Product, Product Managers, & Product Owners to establish a feature brief.

  • Meet with internal stakeholders to define what we are building, why, & for whom (Business goals) to further refine the feature brief.

  • Work with the product team to perform user & market research to better understand needs & expectations from the user's perspective. (User goals)

  • Once requirements have been generated, work with product & development teams to define the MVP scope of work.

  • Assign working epics/stories in JIRA to designers during Design Sprint Planning.

  • Create user flows, low fidelity wire frames, & prototypes to get potential UI/UX solutions in front of the team/stakeholders.

  • Perform User Testing sessions whenever possible

  • Transition approved low fidelity designs into high fidelity designs for developer implementation.

  • Participate in Developer Sprint Planning to ensure clarity and expectation as well as daily developer stand ups to answer questions or address any blockers.

  • Work with product & QA to review implementation in staging environments & approve for deployment to live.

  • Work with client reps & users to gather feedback for future improvements to the feature/product.
